The Aquarium Of The Amazon
The Amazon Research Center for Ornamental Fishes and the Aquarium of the Amazon were established to promote conservation awareness and sustainable breeding practices in the communities of Iquitos, Peru, situated deep within the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. The Aquarium opened on January 29, 2024. Our aquarium acts as an educational center, informing visitors—particularly children and school groups—about the rich aquatic life of the Amazon and the significance of conservation. Your support enables us to conduct essential research and educate local fishers on sustainable ornamental fish aquaculture, thereby safeguarding the Amazon’s fragile ecosystem for future generations.
